Saturday, April 18th Time: 6 PM – 8 PM Age Group: 16+ Join me for a hands-on workshop where we’ll explore the art of equilibrium. Inspired by the kinetic sculptures of Alexander Calder and the budding colors of the season, you’ll design and assemble your own custom hanging mobile. This isn’t your average "nursery" craft. We’re focusing on sophisticated silhouettes, intentional balance, and minimalist design. Whether you want to mimic falling cherry blossoms, abstract rain clouds, or new growth, you’ll learn the mechanics of making art move. What You’ll Learn: The Physics of Balance: Master the "fulcrum and lever" technique to ensure your mobile floats effortlessly. Design Composition: How to choose shapes and colors that create visual harmony. Material Play: Work with a variety of media, including lightweight wood, cardboard, wire, translucent vellum, and curated botanical elements. What’s Provided: All professional-grade tools (pliers, jewelry wire, hanging hardware). A "Spring Palette" of materials (pastels, vibrant greens, and natural textures). Light refreshments to keep the creative juices flowing. Note: No prior engineering or art experience is required! We’ll guide you through the "bottom-up" assembly method that makes balancing complex tiers a breeze. Space is limited to ensure everyone gets hands-on help with their balance points.
