Service Description

Wednesdays starting May 13th-June10th (5 sessions)/ 5-6:15pm Ages 8-12 / All 5 sessions $115 / Drop-In fee $30 Unwind and get crafty in our Crafting Calm class series at Nimble Craft! Over 5 Wednesday sessions, kids will enjoy fun crafting projects designed to ease anxiety. Each week blends creativity with simple therapeutic techniques like mindfulness , coping skills, and collaborative projects. +Each class is able to be booked individually or as a plan for all 5 (with a discount) Curious as to what we will be making? Projects are in the works but all 5 weeks we will be focused on one of SEL (Social Emotional Learning) Core Skills; Relationship Skills! Week 1: Collaborative "Nature" Mural / Children will draw individual nature scenes connected by a shared river or path flowing from one artist’s work to the next. Week 2: Pass The Art / Artists will build upon one another's canvases. The focus is on collaborative addition without erasing or covering existing work. Week 3: Marble Maze Team Build / The group will build a maze together and then collaborate to play. Students can discuss among themselves who will take the finished project home. Week 4: Story Box Theater / Each child will create a scene in a shadow box and pass it to a partner for interpretation. The original artist will then reveal the intended story. Week 5: Friendship Music Makers / Children will create shakers or rainsticks for a call-and-response activity. Each student will have the opportunity to lead a beat while others About Your Emotions Expert + Crafting Expert: Megan Ellow, LCSW of Nest Counseling Megan is a licensed clinical social worker in Delaware and Pennsylvania. She graduated with a masters degree in Social Work from Delaware State University. She has worked over 10 years in mental health treatment with children, adults and families. Her private practice specializes in Perinatal Mental Health, Trauma and Anxiety. She has advanced training in Perinatal Mental Health from Postpartum Support International. She is also trained in EMDR, which is a treatment for trauma. Karith Gingrow of Nimble Craft Karith Gingrow is an illustrator, maker, and small business owner of Nimble Craft located in Media, PA. Working over the past 7+ years with community family gatherings, kids crafting parties, and open studios, Nimble Craft shares the love of bonding through creating by using age appropriate materials, process art + product, as well as collaborative projects for all ages.

They are not a substitute for professional therapy or mental health treatment. - Water and snacks welcome with allergies for others in mind. Nut free preferred and appreciated.
