Service Description
2 Sundays, June 22nd & 29th / 10-1pm / Ages 16+ In this 2-part miniatures workshop, participants will complete 1 pocket-sized diorama of an imagined garden inside of a repurposed box. Participants will select from a variety of matchboxes, tins, vintage ring boxes, etc. to work in. All materials including polymer clay, resin, and assorted tiny objects will be provided. About your instructors: Lucy Pistilli is a Philadelphia artist, educator, and advocate, with a background in painting. Pistilli's works on paper and canvas show her love of intricate obsessive detail. A life-long collector of tiny objects, Pistilli draws particular inspiration from Victorian keepsakes. When not painting or teaching, Pistilli creates miniature works inside of collected boxes, tins, and lockets referencing art-historical scenes inspired by Heironymous Bosche's "Garden of Earthly Delights" among others. Danielle Puccini began creating and telling stories in three dimensions and miniatures during her nomadic military childhood before obtaining her bachelor’s in Art History from Tyler School of Art in 2003. Driven by her passion for creating miniature interiors and spatial compositions, Danielle went on to pursue her MFA in Interior Design from Moore College of Art and Design during which she completed an internship in the exhibition design department at The Philadelphia Museum of Art and graduated in 2014. The years following her experience at Moore, Danielle has worked with and for prominent Philadelphia design and architecture firms. Today Danielle works as an independent interior designer, enjoys crafting objects and spaces, and spending time with her dog, Judy.
